Examines human metabolism in relation to health and human performance. Analysis of nutrient pathways from ingestion, digestion, absorption and utilization provides the foundation for an understanding of nutrition, weight control, eating disorders and thermoregulatory processes.
Analysis of middle and high school health education instructional planning, materials and teaching strategies. Examination of literacy needs of diverse student populations including instructional strategies in reading and writing in the content. May receive credit for only one of the following: EDUC 361, HLTH 361 or HLTH 461.
> Develop a research or creative project suitable for presentation at an undergraduate research conference or equivalent public venue. Work one-on-one with a faculty mentor from a department of the student’s choosing and with Honors administrative faculty to complete and present the independent project.
Explores relationships between service and companion courses using a service learning model. Twenty hours of serv- ice and one hour seminar every other week. Prerequisite: Permission of instructor.
Investigates the current state of the Web by analyzing best practices. Involves formal theories for analysis and design. Students will participate in usability studies. The theories and studies of renowned usability, design and technical experts will be highlighted throughout the course.

Introduction to sales management and the personal selling component of marketing management. Emphasis on both the selling process as well as managing sales personnel. Topics will include market analysis, sales strategies, sales presentations and creating/administering a sales program.
Stylistic, technical and intuitive aspects of music examined through listening, discussion and creative exercises. Students explore their creative potential in music and are familiarized with newer techniques of composition including synthesized music.

Provides physical education and health professionals with skills and knowledge for lifelong wellness activities. Meets General Education V (Prior to fall 2008: IV) for athletic training, health education and physical education majors.
Prevention, treatment and management of injuries and physical disabilities that effect exercise. Influence of training and program design on adaptations associated with diseases, functional disabilities and injuries that affect strengthening techniques.
